clockwise: slices of ginger, chilli paste, cloves, cardamom, star anise, cinnamon stick, kurma spice with onion
ingredients needed
one whole chicken
3 table spoon oil
spices as mentioned above
1 tea spoon tamarind paste
pinch of salt
pinch of sugar
200ml coconut milk (can always be substituted with milk)
water (depends how thick you like the gravy is.
potatoes (optional)
tomatoes (optional)
some yoghurt (optional)
how to?
1. heat the oil
2. fry the spices. start with all the four dried spices and ginger
3. add the chilli paste and continue stirring.
4. add the kurma spices and onion. stir.
five. pour the chicken and let them mix with the spices.
6. add some water and let them boil.
7. when the chicken is almost ready (cooked), pour the coconut milk, tamarind, salt and sugar. stir. and ready to serve.
i normally have it with rice or bread.
